“It is primarily procedural problems, in the communication between referee and video assistant. You have to do that. It is not a fundamental problem, because the majority are going well,” said Fröhlich at “Sky”.

The 64-year-old also explained that the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) 94 failed decisions in the Bundesliga and 77 wrong decisions in the 2nd division.

“The processing is clearly about pointing out the mistakes. But it is also about giving the referees the necessary security and calm. The referees are good, our international missions also show,” said Fröhlich before the end of the season.

There had been several very controversial decisions last weekend, including the top game between FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund.

The Schiri boss said he was against the impartial. This is “a) not my world and b) it doesn’t help either”. Even from a quick descent as a punishment for too bad performance, Fröhlich does not believe in anything. “This only increases the pressure. I am not a friend of speaking of as judges.”
