National goalkeeper Almuth Schult has raved about the advantages of her future Angel City association in the American football league.
“The NWSL is a very balanced league, which is particularly interesting for a goalkeeper. You just get more to do,” said VfL Wolfsburg’s 31-year-old player before her last home game in a club interview.
“There are usually two or three top clubs in Europe that play for the title. In the USA you never know who will be master because the system is completely different there,” she explained.
After the European Championship, the goalkeeper will switch to the US professional league NWSL and continue her career at Angel City, a newly founded club from Los Angeles.
